Vintage Hawaiian Tabletop on Maui’s North Shore

I’ve been known to thumb through old photo albums for hours.  Something about old photographs really captures my imagination.  When I luckily stumbled on this image of these charming Hawaiian beauties, it was no exception!  These lei-cloaked wahine clearly adore flowers, and they got me dreaming about classic wedding blooms with a vintage Hawaiian twist.  Their charisma was so contagious that they became my inspiration for a lovely wedding reception table for a recent photo shoot on Maui’s legendary North Shore.  Using a vintage-inspired color palette, we created a tabletop of beautifully muted hues using hydrangeas, roses, gardenias and orchids.  Classic white was the base for dreamy shades of aqua, peach, butter yellow, amethyst, ivory and mauve.  The bridal bouquet was composed of roses, hydrangeas, phalaenopsis orchids, stunning gardenias and mini callas, then finished with Midori ribbon and a strand of antique jewels.  A precious purse made entirely of adorable peach spray roses was a sweet addition to the decor.  Hundreds of giant roses, fluffy hydrangea and fluttering phalaenopsis orchids overflowed from a towering centerpiece to set the tone for an elegant occasion.  Crystal jewels sparkled under the Hawaiian sun, while hanging prisms brought more vintage glamour to the tabletop.  Fabric, floral and jeweled embellishments transformed chivari chairs into seating fit for royalty.  Luxury silk linens, chargers and cutlery finished this pretty tabletop.  A special mahalo to the one-and-only Conn Brattain and event extraordinaire Debbie Fisher of Pacific Event Group for making this photo shoot possible!
